BIO

Jenny (Jen) Lawler lives in Marin County, California and has a studio in Corte Madera. Her work explores color, nature, sea and sky. She was born in Ridgewood, N.J., and spent her summers on Long Beach Island. The family moved to Southern California in her formative years and then Jenny attended UH, Manoa in Honolulu. She studied health Science, Nutrition, and has a BS in Dental Hygiene. She also owned a Staging business for 20 years.

Mainly self taught, with many courses and workshops along the way, Jenny uses acrylic, oils, encaustics, found papers, gel prints and collage in her work. In many of her pieces, she explores the dichotomy of the abstract world juxtaposed with a touch of realism, and the power of intuitive painting with lively colors and emotion.

Her work has been exhibited at The Newport Beach Art Museum, The Marin Museum of Contemporary Art,   Marin Society of Artist’s Gallery, O’Hanlon Gallery, and private collections.
